What is osteopathy?
Osteopathy is a holistic manual therapy aimed not only at combating symptoms but also at addressing the root causes of complaints. Each person is seen as a complex biopsychosocial individual, where all the tissues in our body form a unity and are interconnected. For example, a pelvic misalignment or leg length discrepancy can lead to discomfort in the cervical spine. For this reason, the entire body is thoroughly examined in each treatment, not just the site of the complaint. Detailed anatomical and physiological knowledge, combined with trained palpation skills, allows the osteopath to identify and effectively treat imbalances and blockages within muscles, fascia, vertebrae, organs, and vessels. More on this and examples here.
